How are CPC commissioners appointed?
- The CPC has 13 members that represent a cross-section of the fire and emergency service, including CFOs from career, combination, volunteer, and Department of War fire departments, city and county management, labor, and CEMSO, CTO, FM, FO, PIO, and FESA designees.
- CPSE directly recruits designees and city/county managers and solicits and accepts nominations for the labor position when vacancies occur.
- Commissioners are appointed by the CPSE Board of Directors. Click here for a flow chart of how designees and city/county managers are selected.
- CPC Commissioners are appointed to serve an initial three-year term and are eligible to be reappointed by the CPSE Board of Directors for up to an additional two terms for a maximum of three terms of three years each.
